With a twist!

Today's Gratitude Item: That my last appointment for this evening cancelled which meant getting home slightly earlier than expected. It was still a 'too long' day though...

Topographical Waves

Sometimes '3D' happens - this time it required surprisingly little effort.

Today's Gratitude Item: Vindication! For the past two years I have focused on 'skills based' material in my senior courses rather than something called 'generics' (very long, very boring story). Digital Technologies is now on Auckland University's "Table B" (this is a very big deal) but the 'generics' that I have been avoiding don't count towards this. Many of my colleagues at other schools still offer generics for various reasons and I have always felt vaguely guilty / out of step for not going that route. Needless to say, my students are now advantaged as provided they work hard, everything they do in 'Digital' counts towards "Table B" points.

Hidden Heart

In the original, the heart was a lot harder to see. This one required quite a bit of post processing in GIMP.

Today's Gratitude Item: That it is easy to 'dob students in' for using FaceBook if they are under age. Some of my 7th graders are not too bright and one of them sent me a friend request. I checked her age and then reported her profile. As teachers we are not allowed to 'friend' our students for very good reasons (aside from the fact that it is creepy, it is not safe and things could go badly wrong all round).

Soft Target

Had fun with this one.

Today's Gratitude Item: One of my seventh grade Math students emailed asking for help with a homework question. She is the first one to actually do what I asked (ie: "if you are stuck, take a screenshot and email me asking for help"). I made a super quick video and got a lovely 'thank you' email shortly after.

Scarf Fall

This one is related to 'topographical waves' - it's good when making slight changes results in interesting differences.

Today's Gratitude Item: Figuring out how to turn off notifications from a particularly sneaky website that I inadvertently enabled late on Friday.
